Contractor Code of Conduct

General Conditions 

This Code of Conduct defines the standards of behaviour expected from Contractors in relation to full compliance with applicable laws and to adhere to code of ethics as prescribed by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia.

  1. Contractors are obliged to familiarise themselves with and adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations. It is the contractors’ responsibility to train its employees, agents and subcontractors accordingly.
  2. It is the responsibility of the contractor to assure that their contractors and subcontractors comply with the ethical requirements and standards set forth in this Code of Conduct.
  3. In the event that the Contractor is unable to meet the principles of this Code of Conduct, the business relationship may be reviewed which could lead to cessation of business relationship.

General Principles

A common Code of Conduct to guide and regulate the activities of parties engaged in construction-related is necessary to establish the standard of behaviour that participants may expect from each other and against the which the behaviour can be measured.

This code of conduct represents an important step in the management of integrity and the creation of environment within which business can be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

In line with Code of Ethics for Contractor Construction Industry that delivers value to property owner and society, the contractors have pledged to observe the highest standard of Integrity, Professional and Responsible in dealing with their clients:

  • By making no false promises or claims during negotiation.
  • By obtaining Licensed by Local Authorities and following Local Requirements.
  • By formalising written agreement and fulfilling its obligations.
  • By providing Proof of Insurance to Property Owner.
  • By providing Customer Reference List to Property Owners. (If required)
  • By providing Contractor Labour Warranty.
  • By maintaining transparency with the Property Owner regarding any changes in schedule, scope of work or unforeseen conditions.
  • By ensuring Safe Work Conditions according to OSHA guidelines or Industry Standards.
  • By aspiring towards 100% Property Owner Satisfaction.
